Statement on Far-Right Violence
The racist, xenophobic and Islamophobic violence and riots we are witnessing are abhorrent. We have found ourselves disgusted and horrified, but not surprised. For too long, the government and media have dehumanised migrants, Muslims and people of colour, repeatedly using them as scapegoats. We extend our love and solidarity to all those affected and continue to call for dignity, care and justice for all.
We have been very relieved that, following risk assessments and a few tweaks to how people are able to access our support, we have been able to maintain our service delivery uninterrupted, with no breaks in our clothing provision.
Below, we have included some resources which we hope may be of support to anyone affected or looking to become active in countering the growing far-right movement.

Hope Not Hate provide practical advice to help us combat hate together. You can read their reflections in the wake of the far-right riots on their website now, as well as lots of pointers for how to take action.

The Anti-Raids Network can help you find a local anti-raids group. They also provide information on what to do if you witness an immigration raid taking place in your neighbourhood.

TellMAMA is an independent organisation working to tackle anti-Muslim hatred. You can contact them if you have been a victim of an anti-Muslim hate incident or crime.

Liberty’s protest bust cards are designed to support racialised and migrant protesters and organisers, so that they can be empowered to exercise their legal rights to protest as safely as possible.

Healing Justice London provide community-led health and healing, to build and protect the capacity of communities experiencing systemic oppression, so that they are able to continue their change-making work.
“Thank you for being by our side and reducing the pain and suffering from the distance from our homeland and family with your presence and help.”
