Socks
£5.00
This gift covers the cost associated with a refugee accessing one of our events.
In March 2025, there were over 100,000 people waiting for an initial decision on their asylum claim. On average, it takes 82 weeks for this initial decision to be made. People waiting for a decision on their asylum claim are banned from working & are provided with just £6.77 per day to cover the costs of their basic necessities.*
Thread Ahead tackles two issues: waste in the fashion industry & poor access to clothes faced by refugees and asylum seekers. We provide brand new clothes & toiletries which would otherwise go be incinerated or go to landfill & redirect them to refugees in need.
When you purchase this gift, you will receive a printable, foldable card (pictured), featuring an illustration by artist Sophia Potter (IG: @sophiadpotter_art).
