Thread Ahead works to reduce the amount of clothes, shoes, toiletries and accessories heading to landfill, incineration, or just taking up space.
Most people take 4-6 items from one of our events, so if you donate just a few items, you could make someone’s day!

What happens to your donation?
Once we receive your donation, your items are counted, sorted, steamed and styled by our team. They are then displayed in our showroom where our visitors come and choose their favourites to take home.

Everyone who comes to our events has insecure immigration status. That includes refugees, asylum seekers, and others who are in the UK on human rights grounds. Often, the people who come to our events have little to no access to high quality clothing.

We believe that what you wear affects how you feel. Every item donated to us can help someone feel more confident, accepted as who they are, and cared for.
